Pathfinder Helicopter Flight - 15 minutes

et ready to take to the skies with this exclusive private helicopter experience. One of our skilled pilots will guide you on a 15-minute aerial tour of the Visual Reporting Points, with space for up to three passengers onboard.

The Pathfinder Helicopter Experience offers a unique perspective that’s more than just a scenic ride and not quite a flying lesson—it’s a behind-the-scenes look into the daily aviation activity at Redhill Aerodrome.

Let’s be clear—if you’re passionate about aviation or dreaming of becoming a pilot, this is the perfect experience for you. It dives into the nitty-gritty of pilot procedures, those familiar three-letter aviation terms like ATC (Air Traffic Control), ATZ (Aerodrome Traffic Zone), CTA (Control Area), and CTR (Control Zone), and demonstrates exactly how pilots operate in and out of this active Surrey airfield.

Redhill’s location means part of its airspace lies within Gatwick’s CTR and CTA, meaning flying here follows strict aviation protocols. Pilots use VRPs—Visual Reporting Points—as visual markers to navigate specific routes into and out of the aerodrome.

During your Pathfinder flight, you’ll track and spot these key VRPs, including Buckland Reservoir, the M23/M25 junction, Godstone village, and South Godstone Railway Station—each offering a designated path into or out of Redhill.

This experience is packed with insights for aspiring aviators, from radio calls with ATC to learning how aerial navigation works. Flights take place in Robinson R44 helicopters—an exciting way to explore the sky. (Fun fact: Redhill even has heli-strips and hover squares just for helicopters!)

Since this is a private experience, it’s exclusively for your group of up to three people—making it a brilliant gift for anyone fascinated by flying.
